tmcviper,
I have been fishing loomis blanks for years. Can you tell me how the 683 or 684 dobyns compare to 3 or 4 power loomis?
Thanks

I purchased the 765 a couple of months ago and didn't really get to test it out good till last week. We caught some quality fish and the rod performed great. It is the best balanced flippin stick I have picked up and has plenty of backbone to get the job done. I will be buying more in the near future.

Thanks for the link Ronnie. I have the same impression of the Loomis 3 and 4 power rods that the guy writing the report has. No rod that I have ever tried compares to the 3 power Loomis but the 4 power is like a dead stick!!!!! Now to more questions.
1. Is the Champion extreme that much better than the Champion? 2. For Texas rig and jigs do you mostly use a 4 power?
Thanks, Kenneth

Thanks, Kenneth I can't speak for Ronnie, but I use the Extreme's for my "feel" rods (tx rig, football jiggin, etc). Champions for all other uses. I have used both, a 3 and 4 power (703/704) for texas rigs. The 4 will come into play better when in heavy cover.

The feel on the Champ Extremes is SIGNIFICANTLY different. To answer your second question, I use the 4 and 5 power rods for jigs. 4 power champion extreme with lighter line applications (15 lb and under) and the 5 power champion with heavier line (20 lb+)
