I grew up at the lake, and started targeting bass at age 12. I joined a bass club, and started fishing the Red Man Ozark division at 16. I quit fishing that next year (1993), and didn't pick up a rod again until I was 24. When you think about it...it's absolutely crazy the info you can get on the net. Granted Time on the Water is everything; I would have been a significantly better angler with the information available today. Back then, it was only word of mouth. How many years after a bait was introduced did you learn about it? I got my [censored] kicked in a Red Man during post spawn with a Slider worm. I had never heard of them. This was back in '90. Sliders had been out for years apparently. Another tournament I got schooled by my boater dragging a Yamamoto Hula Grub. I was like Yama-what? I had never heard of Yamamoto. When I read about Zoom coming out with the Brush Hog in '84...I was shocked. I didn't hear about it until '88. The only thing I remember being on the up-and-up about was when the Slug-go came out in '92 (that and the chatterbox). It's only a matter of time before a 14yr old wins the classic.

Are under aged children allowed to fish in the adult division of bass tournaments?

I used to rely on the "empty peg" method for which baits were working best. Hmmmm junebug looks like it's selling better than the rest maybe I'll grab a pack and give em a try.

Are under aged children allowed to fish in the adult division of bass tournaments? Are over age adults allowed to post in the Bass Fishing Section?

Before the comp when I first started fishing back in '86 I was a magazine junkie. Honey Hole, Bassmaster and anything else I could find which wasnt much. Watched TNN, Honey Hole and Bassmaster TV which was a 30 minute show back then. Thanks goodness we had VCR's. Used to have a whole box of VCR tapes labeled and dated. Good times man. Threw texas rigged fire and ice Ringed Rascals as my go to bait.
