I was wondering what you catfishermen wear when you go out catfishing in 32 degree weather. The clothing I have just does not seem to keep me warm enough.

First a GOOD pair of long johns NO cotton, then layers. A bucket half full sand then charcoal helps too

you can do with less layers if you listen to Opus & do the WOOL thermals & make sure your OUTTER layer is wind/waterproof GOOD wool socks & cap & your body will retain heat better. Goretex is your friend in cold weather

extra-tuf boots and black lined carharts are enough for our part of the country. A good hat with ear flaps are real important. If you figure out the glove issue, we'll make a fortune.

I broke down and bought a 3-way parka and the matching coveralls in camo a couple years ago and it has done me well. It seems like the hunting clothing is cheaper than the fishing cold weather gear. I also bought gortex boots and gloves. They have served me well for two winters so far.

I have a set of Frog Togs, windproof, light and really warm. Oh ya, breathable.

I just wear shorts and flip-flops year around. Takes a couple times to get used to it, you just get so cold that you dont feel anything anymore!

Seriously, as stated above carhart and wool, no cotton.

Look for some good duck hunting clothing. Check Mack's Prairie Wing out. Just type in Mack's Prairie Wing and us should go to it web page. Anything with Goretex. It is wind and water resistant. Plus it breaths. I'm in the water duck hunting in the freaking cold. Good duck clothing is what I use to hunt and fish in. I love to fish for blues in the cold. You may also want to look into some type of heater. Academy has some good ones.

i'm fat... custom made for some cold weather

silk weight long johns, poly-pro's over that, jeans & flannel shirt next, gortex pants and jacket over all that.
I also have a good pair of gortex boots (Danner's) that are size 10.5 (one full size too big) so that I can wear silk socks, then a thick pair of wool socks. Sometimes I will put on two pairs of the wool socks.
All the silk is to keep the moisture from staying close to the body. I have not found any gloves that I likes, so I just use pockets and handwarmers.

Oh yeah, silk weight bacalava with either ski mask or just wool cap over that. The head is the most important part to keep warm.

I use a pull over mask like the bow hunters use. It has eye holes and a mouth hole. Got it at Academy. It's mostly poly but works very well. I generally use it and a pair of cheap goggles when running.

does that wool not get itchy??

I think Musky Dave or something like that has some stuff that is awesome. It is ice fishing gear and is floatable also.

Personally, I choose military grade thermals and then camo pants and then my Ranger rain suit over that on the bottom. On top I use the thermals and then a tshirt and a sweatshirt and then my Ranger jacket on top. I have been out there in 18* before and I do fine.

I think the Musky Dave stuff is the best.

Carhartt gets wet. If you are in rough water and get wet then your day is ruined.

Sounds like you are talking about Artic Armor. My wife, son, and I each have a set. Very warm. Suppose to float you. Have not tried floating myself, thought about doing it before it gets cold.
