I'm sure this has been brought up before, but what's the most common weight you use on your plastics 10ft or less? I mostly use 1/8 or 3/16, but watching a lot of the pros on TV they seem to throw 3/8 to 1/2 ounce quite a bit.

Normally 3/16ths up to 15', but will go lighter or heavier depending on the wind and the cover.

also depends on what rod and reel setup you are using.

Unless the wind picks up, then it's up to 3/8 or 1/2.

It all depends on the wind. On windy days, I've used up to an 1oz flipping weight.

Sometimes when the pros uses a heavier weight than seems necessary it is because they are try to get a faster drop rate on the bait to elicit a reaction strike.

I agree. Much of my weight choice is based on the wind and water depth.
