I once hooked a bass on a dropshot and as it got close to the boat I noticed the hook and bait flopping around above the fish. Sure enough when I landed it it turned out that the bass had apparantly sucked in the weight so fast it flew out the back of it's gill flap and got hung up on the way back through. So I caught that bass on the weight only, the hook was never involved.
