I think the Vermillion was the most versy. I have been a costa fan for awhile, but im getting real tired of scratch lens' splat

I have the Oakley Monster Dogs with the Fishing Specific Shallow Water lens (Same as KVD) and I love them. Very durable lens.

I have an old pair of Costa Hammerheads with amber lenses. I am yet to have a fishing partner that can see into the water like I can. My sight is nothing special. The lenses do the trick.

For Costa's 580 glass get the green mirror...love mine! Tried the silver mirror but didnt care for the tint even though both are copper based. Green Mirror best all around IMO. Go to the Costa website and look at their charts for glass types/tints and applications.

My money is on the 580 Vermillion great for sunny days & cloudy days. I have had mine for about 5 years now...In my opinion Costa's are the best fishing sunglasses.

I sent my pair in for new lenses & new springs (lenses were badly scratched...my fault)..anyway all I had to pay is shipping & handling. They have great customer service & they stand behind the lifetime warranty.

I prefer the silver mirrors. Let more light through than the green mirrors, so you can see deeper into the water. The green mirror are great all around lenses, cutting out a bit more of the bright sun than the silver mirror. Bascially, personal preference. I have a friends who prefer both. Try both on and see which one you prefer. Academy and Lake Fork Tackle both have a good selection of frames and lens to try on.

The blue mirror 580's are really comfortable in big sky/bright sun. The problem is all things come at a cost elsewhere. The extra shadding of the blue mirror means less penetration into the water. Less shading-more depth penetration. The trick is to balance your wants/needs. Silver mirror and green mirror developed to give good shallow water perception while still retaining good shading for your eyes in bright sun. Low light conditions? Go for the vermillion/amber for good perception but less prtection on bright days. No perfect solution except buy several pairs.....not me! As mentioned, green mirror or silver mirror will meet most needs.

I personally love my blue mirrors.

I have not tried the green mirrors, but will look into them for another pair.

I wouldn't recommend blue mirrors for sight fishing, but silver mirrors work great. Green mirrors will work well also, but they allow a little less light through, so you see a little deeper with the silver mirror. I've sight fished with green mirrors in the past and they are good, I just think the silver gives you a slight edge with the higher % of light transmission.

Try the copper 580. I just got in a pair and they work great. Compared to my Maui's in amber they are better in the small test I ran at home.
