Where, when???? What lake, time of day, grass, morning, night? (Ain't gonna get in the weekly c-rig line debate again. You can check the other 150 posts with the search block to save time.) If you are fishing early morning then try topwaters, spinnerbaits along the shore and grass. Hopefully on a wind blown point you might get some early morning schooling. Mid day go to the deep edge of grass and fish worms either t-rig, c-rig, wacky or swivel rig. or go deep to fish brush piles, ledges points. Deep is dependent on your lake, thermocline, surface temp, wind, etc... I have been fishing as deep as 43' and catching fish in that deep water. But some days they have to move up due to the thermocline. Really it's a very big question.

Best tactic is fishing an artifical lure with a hook (sometimes more than one) at the end of a line attached to a reel with a rod. Best line is one longer than 6 feet, and smaller than a clothesline. Sorry...but it is a pretty open-ended question...

It is better to keep your mouth shut and remain a thought fool than to open it and remove all doubt. Come on silly fish open your mouth and I will remove all doubt!

if you can find any shallow grass or lily pads or docks, that seems to be the best bet for mubers as well as some nice fish

Staying out of the Heat!! +1 Amen. Everyone talks of winterizing their boat but I prefer to summerize & stay away from the heat & skier/jet fleas.

Hmm I also disagree with West.. I bet live bait outfished the artificals by a significant margin.
My favorite summertime thing is NIGHT fishing. Day in and day out all summer long, you can catch fish on a dropshot. Deep or shallow you can catch some. It may not win any tournaments or be the best technique for the day but it will work.
