Fished Ray Roberts on june 28. Got finished headed to ramp and got to sit there and watch the !!!!!!!!! in his refurbed chris craft on the two lane ramp back down with family, tie to dock, left family in boat holding to make sure it didnt scratch while he went up to pay lauch fee, then go back and forth to his truck getting ski gear coolers etc. Why cant people realize other people are wanting to use the ramps, and more importantly use there !!!!!!!!! heads. I did politely tell him if would have done all that before launching that he would be exhausted from trips to his truck before he even gets on the water. I am sure it didnt help. Wish there was a way to report these kind of people and maybe the marina or tpwd send a letter or something to wake em up. I feel better now.

It's happening more, now that school is out, the jet-fleas and ski boats just tie up the ramp to unload ice chest and gear!

Bass clubs should donate money to put signs up at busy ramps. That might help. I tried once to explain this to someone, almost ended up in a fight.

I've been fishing for many, many years, and now I'm retired and don't fish weekends or holidays for obvious reasons, but that kind of thing has been going on since the invention of water.

Let it bother you, and you yourself have ruined your entire day!

Just one more cast!

BMCD,

Might is the key word. Idiots don't read signs and if they do they either ignore or don't understand what they mean.

I'm not a member of a bass club-or any other club for that matter, but I feel it is not their responsibility to donate their hard earned money to educate the ignorant

Signs with a list of staging area to-do's is a good idea. Would petitions sent to tpwd, and fed parks dept do any good? Just a thought. I think many "offenders" are just not aware of the problem they cause, and many just don't plan ahead. Of course, there are some who look at it like waiting for a table at a restaurant- once it is your turn, it is yours as long as you want, and they resent anyone trying to rush them.. I don't think we can hope to change those folks.

Another issue is turning off your lights when loading/unloading. It seems every time I launch at GV (Murrel) there is someone on the ramp with their lights on and it is fishermen.

No way you can see to back up in that situation...I just wait...

Just out of curiosity, was the guy with the Chris Craft driving a rather large, bright blue Dodge Truck?

Definitely not the responsibility of bass clubs to spend their personal money to make public awareness announcements or signs concerning boat ramp etiquette. As was mentioned, those people who do these stupid things would either not read the sign or blow it off, feeling it doesn't pertain to them.

Not to argue the well put point (i've been on the receiving end) but some can't turn off their lights - My Chevy has the auto lights on doohickey scared
Of course when you'll be at a stop for any length of time the dern key can be turned off cheers
