I just saw that Amistad is on the rise again. It looks to be up a foot or so. where did all of this water come from? What's going to happen if another storm comes out of the pacific like last year? I still can't belive they did not drop the water level more than what they did.

Water came from the rain that moved up out of the pacific from the recent tropical stuff that came ashore in Mexico. And we are STILL getting water from the lakes up above in the Mexico chain that flooded out last year. It had rained in the Pecos region for almost three weeks. Then the 8 inches in a 24 hour period sent the pecos on a rise. They have been releasing at 2295 CFS for quite some time now. And we are still rising, albeit slowly. Current level is 1117.89 .

I heard that the Pecos came up out of its banks. If so that means lots of debris coming into Amistad via Rio Grande. Be careful when hauling it up river. I would fish Falcon this weekend the new water might shut those fish down at Amistad.

Tell em' down there to shut those gates and you could catch the 2295 CFS that has been going down there for quite a while.

At least there's a chance Falcon may hold at a decent level through the Summer now. Amistad should be setting up for a massive spawn again next Spring. I can't imagine what big blue will be like for numbers in 2011 - 2015. Should be incredible.

I agree with you 100% we went down monday-tuesday fishing from the banks and did alright but lots of baitfish shallow plus lots of new shallows and trees for them. Will be there in Feb-Mar

Word is some more water may be coming down soon James. Cross your fingers if they start releasing from Mexico again up above.
