A friend , his son, and I went out this morning for their first redfish trip.  We got into a good bite.  Ended up catching 12 and hooked up with 11 more that broke our line or shook us after some long fights.  This is one of 3 that his son got in the boat.  I think they are hooked.

Well done! Congrats!

It can be addictive, that's for sure. What bait were you suing? How deep were they?

Thanks.....

Thanks,

We caught them on shrimp and crawfish. Carolina rigged in 9-12 feet of water.

Stillfishing as best we could. I don't have a very good anchor for the choppiness of the water.

What has the water been like the past couple of days?
I was thinking of going today, would be my first trip. If I can pull it off, I'll get there about 3pm.

1 1/2' to 2' on the main lake. Coves on the ramp sided of the lake are smooth.

I went yesterday, got skunked. Not even 1 bite.
I trolled with various crank baits.
I also tried still fishing, and drift fishing using shad, squid, and shrimp.
I must have seen 10,000 big fish on the depth locator. I just could not find anything they liked, or they just were not hungry.
Still, it is a beautifull lake, and there are fish.

I did use shad. I put 4 on a hook, hooking them through the eye. I don't know how any fish would thumb their nose at that.
