how much do you put on the moon phases when night fishing. ive heard people say, they dont go unless its full or near full, and ive heard others say it matters more to the fishermen than the fish. im planning on going this weekend with a new moon (no moon).

It doesn't make a difference if I am going to go or not, but I do prefer either a full moon or a new moon. I have done best on those phases and the peak times seem to be when the moon is just rising or its directly overhead. But, like I said I don't pay much attention to it, I just go when I get the chance.

I have heard it both ways, I have fished both no moon vs full moon, and have done really well either way, but I am more comfortable with a full moon because I can see better, casting and running the lake, thus making it safer for me.

bite has always been better with full moon for me or with some sort of moon light. fish it like you do during the day, use shady spots for ambush points. good luck.
