On my usual largemouth patrol, I've caught sand bass on my crankbaits. Pretty fun to reel in, but I generally throw them back. It seems like I catch more sand bass accidentally on Ray Bob than anywhere else. Yesterday was the craziest. I launched at Isle of Dubois at 6pm, and had a pretty good evening. The whole time I'm fishing, the water is boiling out in the middle of the creek. I ignored it until right before dark....and decided I'd go catch a few. I trolled over to the ruckus and start in on them. I just threw the Zoom Sand Flea crankbait I had been catching largemouth on....burning it back to the boat with my rod tip high....ensuring it wouldn't dive more than a foot or two. I literally caught a fish on every cast. I didn't know the Sand Bass limit on 'bob...so I quit at 8 (hope it's not less than that ). I kept the bigger ones, but quit trying to cull after my wrist cramped from fighting them to the boat. I bet I caught 25. Anyway...is Ray Bob like a renowned Sand Bass fishery? It seems pretty dam good to me. There was fried sand bass and okra at the casa tonight...it was excellent. Next best thing to crappie.

How the hell did you ignore them that long. I hope your wifes dr's appointment went ok b/c you missed a pretty good little fork trip.

I had the same thing happen on Lavon for a couple trips. Sandbass on every other cast in the middle of creeks.
