I went to a honey spot a couple of years ago but never fished it at Lake Ray Roberts.. It was the closed down Tejas park. Anyone ever fished there and refresh my memory please on which road is it off of? I know its not off 455 but one of the other paralell roads maybe..I know I parked by the locked gate and had to walk a ways...Thanks so much rolfmao

Sorry, don't see it on my map of Ray Roberts. You have a rough idea on what part of the lake?

Tony

It is the main point north of the dam that separates the two arms. Yes I fished it, from a boat.

I walked it one day just to look at the area. I wish they would open that park up and make it like Isle de Bois or Johnson Branch. It was used for large group camping or conferences. Great setting in a perfect location between the two arms. All the facilities are still in place.

Lots of wildlife in that area. It is overgrown, so the walking is going to be difficult this spring.

South of Loan Oak Rd. on Sullivan Rd. to Tyson Rd. to S. Hemming Rd. to Arkansas Hill to Fairview circle.

Google it. It's the southern most part of Johnson Branch Park.

Tejas park is shut down. The road through the park is chained off. You can walk down the road to where it used to be and get down to the cove that sits on the main point due north of the damn.

Wildlife included deer and the usual varmints. Thought I saw a bobcat, but it took off pretty quick. Very secluded little area with very few visitors. The campground has grown over real bad, but the road is walkable.

Went to Isle Debois Thursday night and caught about 10 sandies, most were keepers released them all,was there for pleasure not for a meal this time. The usual undesireables were there with their usual 4 poles a piece and keeping all the undersize fish they could. One feller got so fed up he mentioned calling the game warden and left and proceeded to do so, my brother in law and myself happened to be speaking out loud obout the feller, and then all of a sudden they scattered like a bunch of roaches, and then BAM we had the fishing spot we wanted. Good trick, try it sometime hahahah
