Getting ready to mount two step folding ladder on the back of my blue wave c.c. I have stainless screws to use on mounting brackets. Should I use through the transom bolts with a reinforcing plate on inside of transom instead of screws? Not sure if one way is better than the other. Thanks for any input.

I personally would use bolts with the plates if at all possible

Bolts wont vibrate out and dump you in the lake when you really need that ladder

Depends, as screws may be all you need if mounting is good. The bolts are going to have to be a machine screw that goes all the way through the transom. Finding stainless machine screws in what you need may be difficult in the normal #10 or 3/16" machine screws for this application.
