Well, I was planning on planting my garden this afternoon, but I had a message when I got out of church from a man I work with and he and a friend wanted me to take them fishing. I told them it would be a tough day and the wind was going to be brisk, but they wanted to go anyway. Arrived at 1:30 and tried mid lake flats with nothing on the table. Even tried trolling, but struck out so I headed south. The sail boats were in full force south of the island so we headed to a point by the dam. That only produced 4 fish and only 1 was a keeper. Next we tried some humps and met Thunderbolt. Caught 1 nice female and that was it there. Decided to try some windblown rocky points. I told them we would give each point a few minutes and move on if nothing bit. First point we caught 12 fish and none of the other points produced. Next we tried catfishing and caught one keeper channel and lost two at the boat. Water temp was 59.1 when we left and the waves were getting pretty big. We got soaked on the way in. Fish wanted the gray ol'ugly today in 5-32 feet of water. You could say they were scattered. Didn't catch a single one on a fly. Tough day today, but nice to be out.

I had much the same results. I think I saw you headed south, but I had just come from there and did not want to go back. I had similar luck. I pulled one off of the damn and after that nothing. I did not try tw many points cause, well I did not want to fight the wind. I mostly tried areas north of the island and west bay. I guess I could have done better if I was fishing as opposed to """"scouting""""

Karl I don't know if you read the rules for this board and it says only one person can use the excuse of scouting as a reason for not catching fish and I already have dibbs on it, so you need to find another excuse. Johnny

Johnny Ok, well can you will it to me then. My new excuse is I could not change lures cause I left my sandy box in the truck.

How's it going Jonathan? Haven't seen you out in a long time. Hope all is well.
Thunderbolt, hopefully the fish will cooperate and the boys will want to stay longer!

Hey lancer821 don't know if you remember us but the wife, son and myself pulled up in the red/white skeeter next to you and thunderbolt sorry I didn't intro myself but them dang waves were kicking my butt trying to keep the trolling motor steady. Anyway hopefully thunderbolt gets to read this too, since I haven't called him yet. Right at 5:30 over by twin points side (west side) of the last main lake point before entering the dam area the birds put on an awsome show for about 45 min we boated about 15 - 20 sandies all keepers but one. We didn't keep any just enjoying the day and getting the 8 yr old in some fish. Man my son made my day he was so excited and pumped he caught about 5 of them himself, I really hope this hooks him too fishing. Its been really hard to get him into fishing but today he asked if we could go again next weekend. WE'RE THERE!!!!!

Those waves were pretty strong. I went north of where I saw you and battled some good one's. I saw those birds working close to the point by Auggie's, but figured that by the time I got over there it would be over. The birds on EM are liars most of the time anyway! Glad they told you the truth. I hope that boy is hooked on fishing. Sandie's are what got me hooked when I was 5 years old. Tore my Zebco up pretty good. Stop and say hi next time. Good to meet you.
