I've seen the PB's and they've ruined a couple good spots for me every now and then, but it is the dang jet skiiers that really piss me off when I'm on my yak. This is why I almost always wait to fish this creek after a good rain and farther up the creek than the two pipes.

I've had many fantasies of tying a rope across the creek and pulling it tight as those jerks come flying around the corner! I've also thought of rigging a giant top water with several trebles on it on a cheap pole and nailing them as the come by...

Isn't there a "No Wake" Buoy in that section of lake? I would imagine the COE might act on photos of someone flying through there. Especially if you got a clear picture of the registration numbers.

Honestly I don't think there are any buoys near that part of the creek. Maybe there is at the mouth, but by the time you get to where everyone is fishing on the sandbass run you are two miles up the creek.

I just checked the doppler and there is a ton of rain sitting on Hickory Creek! It's going to be rocking in a few days!

It's pouring now. Was just enjoying being in the garage with the pouring rain, watching the Mavericks, and building a stake-out pole. Almost grabbed another beer and re-lined all my poles thinking about the fish, so sanity prevailed to come inside and wind down with........reading/discussing fishing ofcourse.

I agree KG, do not remember the buoy when I paddled up to the creek from Pilot Knoll.

after all this rain these fish are going to bitting pretty good tomorow arnt they? see i like to go after the cat fish out by the bridge just down the trail a bit but havnt been havin any luck this year or last... so im thinking im going to cheak out this sand bass run thing? iv caught them out in the lake with a silver spoon but what seems to work the best out in the creek? help me out here thinking about going out there tomorow when i get off work.

I've had most of my success with in line spinners (rooster tails), road runners, or small jigs.

You think they will bite today?

Not sure, but worth a try if this rain washed some of fish. We are just south of it picking up so great chance to check it out. Did you get to the watwer this evening?

Well, I've read both pages of this thread. So far I've learned it is a confusing area to get to. You'll need a yak. or some rope and a first aid kit once you get there. You'll walk across private property, might go to jail. And your car or truck will be sitting on bricks when you somehow make it back to it after being lost for a few days. You might could ask for directions from one of the thousand or so folks up on a bridge who are stringing ropes across to try and knock you in the water, so's they can cast Mirro-lures at ya!

Does this pretty well cover it? I don't think I've read of a fish being caught yet...or seen...for that matter...

Creek is a mudhole... Not sure how the fishing will be but the banks will be treacherous and the water will be like chocolate milk for about 4-5 more days. I work 200 yards from hickory creek and cross the bridge 4 times a day.

yeah i went out there yesterday and got no luck, so i switch over and tried for the cats and i got 2 nibbles.... the second one might have been a tree or somekind of debri in the water.... =/ but yes it is a mud hole out there!. im not having anyluck anywhere yet this year.. sucks big time.

A bud and I went out there this evening for just a little while, and we had no results. The water is very muddy from the rain.
