I bought a Garcia Black Max, and the reel some time will turn backwards with tension causing the spool to go in reverse, in turn causing backlash. Is there something wrong with the reel or do I not have something set right? Thanks

There is definately something wrong with the reel. I don't know how the anti-reverse works on that reel but either the one way bearing is bad or sometning else is wrong.

I had the same problem with one myself. Took it back and got a new one that works.

I had the same problem with a couple of Silver Max reels. Send it back and have them fix it. Maybe if they have enough warrenty issues they will stop having the Chinese make their reels.

Have that problem with 3 of my reels..Will let you know the problem next week {There going to the shop}

I have a Black Max I bought used as a spare reel. Don't care for it at all. It shure ain't no Revo, I can tell you that.
