Has anyone ever bought and put one on? Does it really help even out the front of the boat? Easy to assemble? 84 mercury 150

ive always had one on my boat, never too much of a problem getting on plane. so i'm not sure how much it helps. my mechanic told me a while back that he thinks i should take it off. (nitro 882 w/ merc 150)

yes, very easy to install. just screw it on.

I've got one on my 90 merc and I think it really makes a big difference. I noticed it helping me plane out faster and it helps me stay on plane at lower speeds. It may have hurt my top speed but then again I was not worried about that.

Added one to my 85hp Johnson (on a 1976 15' Ranger) and it made a huge difference in the performance of the boat. Gets on plane faster, stays there at slower speeds, and seems to handle better all around. Best money I've spent on the boat since I got it running!

I have one on my boat and have taken it off and on a few time with no real difference. I was trying to see if it helped or not and found no real difference. Used GPS for speed no diff. On plane time No difference. Left it on because it looks better on then off.

Boatless for minute
