I'm replacing my main unit with a LMS 520c. I have an eagle 320 on the front, and want to replace it. I'm considering getting a unit with gps and link them together. Suggestions?

I replaced my x-125 on the bow with a 520c with gps. I couldn't link my console unit as it's an older b+w unit. But if I was spending your money I'd definitely look at buying another 520 for the bow and linking the gps. Or buy an x-27 for the console and put the 520 on the bow. It all depends on how much of your money you're willing to let me spend smile

No reason not to get another LMS 520c head unit and link them. I want a better if not as good a unit on the bow.

One thing Ive learned about bow mounted GPS/sonar, at least for the way my BassCat is setup (my bow leaning post seems to be more forward then other boats). I need to tilt my unit so the screen is almost facing towards the sky. I can see it great but I have an internal gps antenna that needs to be close to upright to pickup signals well. If I had to do it over again, at least for my rig, I wouldve bought a gps with an external antenna.

I don't know why you would need a GPS on the bow of the boat. I would save a little $ and not get that option. I would get color on front and GPS/FF on the console. This is the way that I have set my rig up and I really like it.

I have GPS on the front and would not go without it. Helps if you like fishing deep structure and can get you back to an exact spot if you get blown off it pulling fish off or if you have to retie. I have internal GPS on both and have no problems.

I didn't like looking at a good graph on the console then switching to a smaller not-as-good graph at the bow, so when I upgraded I just got another unit like the one on my console - works very well for me. I did not link the GPS's but when I get hot new stuff on my next boat I may.

I had a 7" screen on the console and a 5" on the bow and upgrading to a 7" on the bow was much better. Last but not least, since my stuff was 3 years old and way out of date I got a matching unit at a great price.
