I was out fishing on Stillhouse, just making a nice drift with the wind and picking up some nice cats and crappie when I noticed a family in a pretty good sized cabin cruiser all jumping up and down and waving their arms about 300 feet away from the boat ramp.
I motored on over to them and they asked for a tow because they forgot to put in the drain plug!
Their motor would not crank either.
I looked in the boat and it was flooded almost up to the gunnels.
I slowly towed them back to the ramp and then watched the fun as they had to put the boat back on the trailer, this was a pretty big boat and they could only get it halfway on.
I was holding my breath as they pulled up, I was sure that boat would end up on the lower unit. I don't know how that thing stayed on because they didn't use the winch strap.
But they got the boat drained and the plug in.
Then they went back out on the lake with their soaked boat.
That was my good deed for the week.

Well, I thought I had also forgot, when my wife asked where that water was coming from, I was pretty sure I had put the plug in, I looked around and found that I had knocked over my beer. Man was I MAD.

Wow! It's a wonder they didn't do any hull damage to the boat pulling it up on the trailer full of water. The weight can split the hull at the stringers if it's not sitting on the trailer correctly. How do I know? Let's just say I been there, done that...
