Now that football season is over for me, I'm going to take a day off from school and go fishing. I'm going to drive on up to CC on Thursday. How are the hybrids biting right now? Would love to hook up with a few. I know some spots I'm going to try for crappie but just looking to see if the hybrids are doing anygood right now. Usually this time of year I do pretty good on the south end, is that are good right now?
Thanks for any help. Have only gotten to fish a couple of times since football started in August so I'm looking to catch some and have some fun.

The south end is the only place I fish, they are probably all on the north end. The better fishing has been in the afternoon, keep your eyes open for loons and gulls/terns working them. Last week I caught fish in a cove near Staubach and in water 45' deep near the A frame. Birds were the key in both instances. There will be a front that pushes through on Tuesday/Wednesday, the forecast calls for cooler temperatures. BTW it is 68* here now.

Going to the standard spots and humps should pay off. You may have to look around a bit....
Your best bet would be to take your favorite ex-band director along for good luck.

We ended up going Thursday despite it being cold and very very windy. Kept hoping the wind would let up but it never did. It sure limited us on where we could fish. We found some early on the shallow flats just south of Crappie Island. Then we ventured a little north to the next point and cove (I believe its Lynn Creek). We fished there and found some hybrids under the cormorants that were working. We were graphing huge balls of shad with hybrids and other fish underneath. If we had been able to stay on them better we would of caught even more. The last hour before dark we moved to the Clear Creek arm and found the hybrids there too. Ended up having a decent day for day that started off so cold and windy.
