Does it make much of a difference?

You probably couldn't tell the difference. The best all around prop for a 24V MG would be a Machete II (plastic), which is a 3 blade.

I use a 3 blade Machette aluminum prop on my 82lb MG. I think it's a step up over plastic in terms of power, there is zero flex in the blades. And I've done some serious stump chewing with no damage.

I thought they only recommended that for the 36 volt?

Unless they have changed their position, MG doesn't recommend the metal Machete prop on 24 volt motors because of the potential for high current draw due to the afformentioned zero blade flex.

That may be the case - I've never really worried about the warranty issue because of how well it performs. I had a reputable retailer / authorized MG repair shop tell me that it's unlikely for the prop to damage the motor due to current draw, unless I stood on the motor at high speed all day long. Mine is out of warranty so it doesn't really matter to me.

So I will add to my earlier post "check with your MG authorized dealer".

Two blade for speed, three blade for weeds.

Best prop I have found for Motorguide is the Hydrilla Hacker.

I have run both of them on my TE 82. I can't tell any difference.

If you are used to taking off on high with the 3 blade and at an angle, you better watch out going to a 2 blade and doing the same thing. Even on a 20' ProCraft it made a big difference. They aint worth chit in weeds though.
