Well it is a little late but it has been hectic down here. The Cast couples have rolled in and lake is fishing tough. Well we are finally above full pool and I think the water is starting to slow down. Well the word for the report is SCATTERED. The fish have scattered into all the new cover and seem to be roaming as well. we go into an area one day and do well and the next day nothing. I have had to find new fish every day. I can tell you we have caught them as deep as 40ft and as shallow as a foot. Caught both big and small in deep and shallow. Believe me I am not trying to be vague due to the tournament but i have always been honest with my reports. I have not been able to pattern fish for a week but have managed to catch some fish everyday. even a few nice ones but I have been throwing the tackle box to get them. Senko's have been a mainstay up in the flooded brush along with ribbits. T-rig soft plastics both flipping the shallows as well as dragging in 18 to 38ft. with the high sky's and NO WIND (who would have thought)I have not had a swimbait bite. it is almost scary fishing this lake everyday like glass and above pool it is kinda freaking me out. but I love the challenge I think me and the lake are about even. Well it hasn't been much of a report.I can tell you, if you fish your strengh's and try to narrow the amount of new water that is available. focus on areas that would cause the fish to move up or down rather than in or out. you will catch fish and occasionally have a shot at a big one. I wish all the C.A.S.T Couples good luck. As always if you need any help or just have a question please feel free to give me a call I am always willing to help. I still have a few openings twords the end of October so if you need to satisfy your Bass habit with a quick fix, or just want to see Amistad at full pool (which doesn't happen often) give me a call and let's go catch them. Here are a few pics from some clients who took advantage of their time off . They all agree it was time well spent!

Three of us from Junction fished on Amistad all day yesterday, 10/6. We didn't arrive at the lake until 9:00 a.m. so missed the early morning bite.We launched at Rough Canyon and motored down lake to the Miller Creek Area and other main lake points and islands (or what used to be islands!). The lake was awesome and dead calm most of the day, just the kind of day I like to use a Wacky Worm. We caught around 60 bass of which 25 or so would have been at or better than 14". Our largest was 4#'s. We also caught a nice striper and hooked several more (but I lost them both as hook pulled out). Anyway, we didn't find the fish to be shallow for the most part. We had probably a dozen bass by noon. It was cloudy until shortly after noon when it really began to get hot (cleared off), with no breeze. From 1-5 we caught 2 fish (dinks). We caught all the rest from 5-dusk, lots of schooling on main Devils arm. We caught fish on C-rig Baby Brush Hogs, a few on Wacky trick worms (not as many as hoped), cranks such as chrome rattle-trap and my buds were using some Strike King crank I wasn't familiar with. The best fish all day were at 17'-23'. At dusk we moved to a shoreline that has consistently produced for us on previous trips. We only caught 2 dinks. I think the fish are still trying to decide what to do with all this new water but the shallow water bite should only get better as we get into October. We threw topwaters also but little action.

As always JC great report. Wife and I may try and fish Fri/Sat and may give you a call as we did last year and we really appreciated your assistance.

Basscrazy--Super report, may try your area this fri/sat, but not sure where Miller Creek is--help!

Thanks all

Just got back from Amistad. Pretty much same thing as Basscrazy said. Saw lots of small bass schooling in the mornings and evenings. Pay attention to where the wind is blowing the bait fish around points, caught a lot of fish in those spots. Didn't catch anything big, heard lots of stories about people catching them drop shotting or jigging in 40-60 feet of water.

Water on Rio Grande side of lake looked really stained, unless you got up in some creeks. Water on Devils side was clear.
