I took the kids to Baylor Lake out of Childress, TX today to see how low it had gotten since we have had a heck of a dry spell here. This used to be a very nice bass lake with bas in excess of 13 pounds being taken off of it as well as some nice Crappie and Catfish. A few years ago it got Golden Algie 2 years in a row and now its drying up. Its 30 miles away from me and I cant even put my boat in. Its a horrible site.

The one below is looking up from the waters edge to the boat ramp

This one is 2 of my Kids standing on a dock that I can remember the poles being all the way under water.

Wow, that's really unfortunate.

Man, I can't believe it. I have had my boat on that lake and we caught some real big bass on purple/blue fleck worms. I did not know about the golden algae or how much it had dried up. That's terrlibl, I always had in the back of my mind that I'ld like to get back up there someday. Wow!

Thats all Baylor will be now. After the ranchers built 4-6 pond dams above it. Those ponds catch all of the runoff from rain. bang

That does suck. I also caught some good fish there at one time.

Wow, that's kinda depressing. Hate to see a lake wither away like that.

doesn't matter if the lake dries up ot not, theres no fish in there. This is probably the worst lake in the state of texas with golden algae. I never got to fish it, but have heard great things about that lake.

Wow! Looks like the shore line of Lavon a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, this lake isn't going to recover if it's getting robbed of run off.

That hurts to see that pic. My PB Largemouth came from Baylor and used to be easilty my favorite lake in the area, and maybe Texas.

Looks like Lake Sweetwater, before it filled up last year.
