it was striped though....like a freakin zebra!!! the stripes didnt show up very well in the pic but it was def. striped. people pulled over to look at it as well and they had never seen anything like that either. but i will agree it did look like it had mange. and it was out in the open, so i think it was sick. but i have never seen a striped dog?

looks like a mutt to me. Coyotes legs don't appear that long, usually, but it's hard to tell the heighth of the grass in the photo, which makes me think dog. Coyotes with mange still have patches, or traces, of hair..

Yep, Chupacabra. If you blow it up and examine it close you can see the outline of the wings. Have you had any livestock that had their blood sucked out lately? I say lets kill it, put it in a freezer, have a news confrence and sell it to the highest bidder. Deal?

THey just did a show on Monsterquest about a animal that looks just like that I think they said it ended up being a cross between a feral dog and a coyote but I cant remember for sure.

if the newspapers only knew that my cousin has shot about 10 of them off his ranch in cuero, this "elusive creature" wouldn't be a big deal...they are simply a herd of genetically defected coyotes. but, whatever brings money to their rather overlooked populous...

Shoot it and charge $1 a person at Traders Village to view it. I saw a guy out there with that scam and his so called "Cupracabra" looked identical to that. I bet he was making $500+ a day.

The stripes you saw might have been folds of skin. When dogs get dehydrated their skin will draw up and fold like that. Looks like a manged coyote though. Maybe like someone else said a cross between dog and coyote.

believe it or not i saw a story about this on CNN on my lunch break at work last week. They said it was a breed of Mexican hairless dog and I think this is the one they were talking about.
