I've experienced the same problem Revoman is having. That's why I won't consider or recommend Hendrix rods.

Mike is clear on his site stating it may take 4 to 5 weeks to deliver. But he also says if you need it sooner let him know.

It's only been since last week since I placed my order. I'll see, but my gut says he's a man who follows through on his commitments.

I hear the complaints loud and clear. I am doing everything I can to correct this even though it doesn't seem like it right now. Please try to understand we will grow out of this. Because of our growth we will be going into a new phase. We will have rods on the shelf this year. In fact you can pick one up at Fun-N-Sun in Hurst ready to go. I thank everyone that has helped us grow keep up the good work. Back order on blanks, and shipping problems have caused most delays. I have failed at communicating with anglers about the time frame for this I am sorry. I will do a better job in the future. We will move forward in a possitive way. The product is the best I have ever built, and I believe getting past present problems we have a great product that will improve anglers fishing experience. I have been having Cell Phone problems, so if you can't reach me by phone contact me by email michael@hendrixrods.com. The complaints are real I am sorry and I will do my best to correct them. If you have an issue with us in this manner contact me please I will try my best to make it right. Thank you and God Bless

Well first of all, Mr. Hendrix coming on the forum and admiting short comings and personally apologizing says alot. I think we are seeing a diamond in the rough getting polished. With Hendrix rods being in the starting stages of the company, and still having the quality products they do, is incredible. I am certain that all of Hendrix shipping concerns will be corrected soon. Mr. Hendrix please no matter what, do not let the quality of you product slip. Right now, as far as I am concerned, Hendrix Rods has the absolute best blank on the market. The custom wraps and handles are just a bonus to an already outstanding product. I can assure you that your clientel will be patient as long as they continue to receive the incredible customer service and hands down top quality product. ~Ronnie

I just don't understand people. How is it that anyone can complain when he is getting a rod below cost and another replaced for free??

I would say that is good customer service. You know Mike does have to build the rod along with all the others that are on order. He can't just snap his fingers and it all gets done. Quality takes time and people should appreciate that.

Man, these guys have legitament complaints with Hendrix, i'd be mad too. However, I can assure you that they both have talked with Hendrix and know he will take care of the situation, and they are receiving top quality rods. Companies make mistakes, it's the ones who make things right that care about their customers, and I think that is exactly what Hendrix is trying to do. Trust me alot of companies JUST DONT CARE

Mike Hendrix is doing something most people do not have the guts to do, that is start his own company. Trust me Mike is committed to his business and his customers. He took a risk to go at the Fishing Rod Business full time, in spite of the amount of competition in the Industry. Making mistakes is all part of being human, correcting them is all about character. Mike took me as his first Co-Angler on his Pro Staff and it has been a relationship that has benifited both of us. Mike has built me rods to my specs that I could not get in anyones off the shelf rods. I've hooked alligators in Okeechobee that may have straightened out the hook, but the rod did not break! On the FLW Tour, Series, and Strens every Pro that has seen his rods like the quality in his craftmanship. I now fish the front of the boat in the BFL's and one thing I do not worry about is my rods. Every rod Mike has built for me I have paid for, so do not think that this endorsement of Hendrix Rods is because of "Free Rods" to someone on his Pro Staff. Mike is a good person and my friend, and if someone has a problem with something in his business I know Mike will make it right. Years from now if you own one of his rods you can say, " I had one of his rods in the early years". Give him a chance you will not be disappointed.

Mike is a friend of mine and I can tell you that he is one of the most polite, soft spoken, and proper individuals I have ever met. We have talked at length on many occasions about his plans for the business. I can tell you that in the forefront of everything was customer service. I know of times when he has driven many miles just to personally take care of a customer. I understand the frustration that people feel when they need to wait longer than they want for a rod, but I do know that Mike cares about every one of his customers and will absolutely take care of them.
