I have a 1996 200hp Mercury Mariner EFI. I am loosing connection at the wiring harness that is kinda below and behind the starter. It is a round plug. I can shake wiggle and squeeze it and my key beeper goes on and off and I lose power or get power depending on which way I wiggle it. Is there a replacement part for this and where can I get one if its available? Also my steering has slop in it at the bracket that is above the hydraulic arm. It is the part that the bolt goes through that has a slot in it.Can I buy just that bracket somewhere? It looks like it comes off with just four bolts
scrape em up!!!

For the connection I would first try a spray electrical contact cleaner, you can get it at Radio Shack. Take the connector apart and spray it all down good, then put it back together. For the worn part go to Mecrcury Parts express here is the web address http://www.mercurypartsexpress.com, you have to log in with an email address then put in the serial number of your engine. Once you get that all done you can look up the part and see if it is still available for your engine or get the part number to search on Ebay or other online outboard part places.

Jason, Disconnect your battery, pull apart the plug and look at the male end. Take a sharp pointed probe and spread the ends of the connectors a litte. You can spray some anti corrosion lube on them and reassemble. This should take care of your problem.
