I came out of a ZX225. Got a 20I. Very happy with it. Some of the features I like are,, The seating is more comfortable. Love the I-force latch/locking system and alarm. More organized passenger rod holders. The fishin line spooler. Of course I got the radio with cd. It's hidden and out of the way and sounds good. The tackle storage system is really handy. According to my GPS mine will run 74 fully loaded,,fishing gear,2 full fuel tanks. Either is an excellent choice.

The Z520 is rated for 250 and is 20ft. Yea, I really like the new Z520,but somehow I bet there gonna be real high for awhile. I would think since the Z520 came out the Prices would drop drastically on the Z Boat.

20I , like my 21I is a cadillac compared to the Z. You won't regret your decision. Also, if you get the 250HPDI , make sure it is the "Phase II". Fuel mileage is out of this world, and you can practically sleep in the lockers. Livewells are excellent. Ride in rough water is without question the best ride I have ever been in. Very comfortable, nice control panel outlay. Everything electrically when you open the back hatch is right there. No moving around things to get to others. Fuse panel very easy to work with. And as far as talking about the ride, if I can take on 6 ft. waves and NOT spear one AND get home safe it is worth talking about and taking into consideration.

Call the guys at Fun n Sun and they will meet you at the lake with both boats and you can decide for yourself. Everyone loves thier own boat and believes it's the best. I personally wouldn'd trade my Z21 for any boat on the market. But that's my opinion and my likes may not be yours.
Fun n Sun carries both Ranger and Skeeter so you can decide for yourself what boat best fits your needs.

My .02 ....I've yet to see one out ride a Ranger. Unless your just dead set on a Skeeter, which is as good a boat as any, but if your looking for the ride in rough water...you can't beat a Ranger. But if your looking for speed go for the lighter rig.

i would go with the 20i, its going to be faster, better ride and more stable, rangers are way over priced and the rough water ride is horrible. i have been in a couple of rangers in 2 foot waves and i almost bounced out of one and another i thought i was going to die because i couldnt catch my breath because the boat was beating me to death.

My words exacty TX. Ride and decide! First off I am NOT knocking Skeeters and honestly I haven't ridden in the new models. I left Ranger for ChampioN simply because I fish mainly Rayburn and a little less TBend ... big waters! I really use to cringe and would adjust my fishing areas if their were 4+ footers out on the main lake. Not anymore though. Now, I only run a 19'6" Champ but I run past those 20 footers all day long when its rough out there AND I have a real dry ride. In balance I do feel like I give up some fishability compared to my other boats but the traits that give that smooth ride do that. Biggest rod lockers in the business too. Don't give up speed either with comparable engines IMHO! But, if you want speed and a strong fishing platform I'd consider a Bullet as mentioned earlier. Also Basscat combines a lot of the best features mentioned in this thread with also the best factory support in the business. Judd on these pages is a BC man. It is a Ford vs Chevy subject when talking bassboats but I wouldn't limit myself to only the 2 brands on your menu ... you're shorting yourself if you do!
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Have a 20i..good friend has a 20Z Ranger....Very experienced in both. If some of you actually think you need a specific boat to ride rough water these days you need to wake up and get out of "my boat is the best in the world" fantasy world. Stay on topic.
Skeeter 07 layout (what you need 98% of the time you spend in the boat) second to none) storage is much better for the tournament angler Big boat feel sturdy as a rock runs about 74 max Rough water ride is phenomanal..digital is just awesome..incredibly easy to do day to day operations
Ranger 07 ONLY BOAT THAT LOOKS LIKE ITS PRICE TAG fit and finish is second to none Quality storage and layout isnt as tournament friendly need a single console if you want a roomy cockpit have the smaller front deck, big back deck disorder can run either motor rough water not as stable as Skeeter but can hold its own
bottom line if tournament angling is most important, go with Skeeter
