If you aren't RV or Camping, you'll be back in Bonham. Nothing up there except some national Grassland Parks/camping and RV Parks.

you can check the little motel in telephone, next would be bonham or paris but not so sure I would park my boat at the motels, if you do you should empty it at night.

Made the trip from Jacksonville to the lake yesterday... best to fill up with gas, get your eats and drinks early because you wont find it in the town of Telephone and you could be going through Hail.. And dont take the road less traveled either.. you will be in the area that Texas Highway Dept forgot. What a beating I took ... took a different route back and it was just as bad... no mas for me.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

The lake bit me good… roflmao Thought I might go into the record books as first to claim he got skunked on the lake but finally caught one. I think the fish were in the brush out in 5’ area but it was too windy and I was getting blown around too fast and didn’t want to tie up so I went right up against protected banks and fished what cover there was..

Only bite I had in two hours.. said to hell with it and started back in soaking wet and hands cold.. got on the best catfish swimbait bite I’ve ever been on and wore them out..kept thinking there had to be a bass in there, but no luck.. was fishing a wind blown point in 5 to 7’ where the catfish were stacked up.. missed a bunch but landed 5 to 22 inches, all were at least 20.. good fights and saved the day..

Well done on the cats! I heard that the cats have been smashing lures.

Got bit by these too! What kind of tree/bush are these? They will take your rods if not careful.

It's a creek bottom. Try getting cows out of bottom on horseback full of locust trees. It's a lot of fun!

What kind of water is this lake going to have? Is it going to be a "stained" from here on out? Is there any vegetation out there?
