If one is ever built, where could it be built so that it has the best chance at keeping water? I have looked at the map a lot, and I dont really see any place with a decent refill zone. We obviously need more lakes down here, especially with all of the growth around San Antonio. I just dont see where.

I would say somewhere along the San Marcos River. Aquarena Springs produces 200 million gallons of water per day

Edwards Aquifer will eventually run out.
Blanco River between Wimberley and Kyle makes sense.

Good little pocket of annual rainfall in that area. Also some healthy natural springs in that region.

Looking at that map, it is crazy how many lakes are in Northeast Texas, and they just opened another.

I doubt the edwards aquifer will ever go dry. It would have to be a drought of epic proportions before that would ever happen. San Marcos river would be a much better option down around Palmetto State park. Lot of farm country not inhabited

Yeah the Edwards is very porous and recharges with decent rainfall.

It would probably need to be on the Guadalupe, way down there.

Lupe’ can dry up. San Marcos has always flowed

The reason is rainfall in that area. That maps not accurate either, the big one just south of richland chambers isn't even on there, everything I've seen it will be the next big one built but it won't be for decades
