Have any of yall had a slide cut on a Glock to install a red dot. As an aging lawman I’m not about to have the youngsters run circles around me on the range. Seems they are all running red dots now and they seem to make a difference. I’m way too cheep to buy more cop [censored] so I’m thinking about getting some slides cut. Let me know about good or bad results!

I put these on my 23, much better than factory. have been looking at buying a cut slide for it since I have an extra red dot that would work. https://www.opticsplanet.com/shop/rmr-glock-slide

I have those on my A-Salt-Rifle that I shoot flies with on my patio.

I’m sure plenty of gun shops in your area can do it. I am wanting to get it done on a G20 just haven’t got around to it.

Custom cut is better than the stock Glock plates from what I read a few years ago doing my research. Im still usung the stock parts without issue though.
Make sure the smith you use is capable and it should be good to go.

Make sure the smith you use is capable and it should be good to go. My understanding is that custom cut for your particular sight allows low profile mounting without an adapter plate.

In DFW it's Vulcan or Mapleleaf as top choices
You're going to want a Trijicon rmr 06 or Holosun 508T

I'd put one on a fun gun and play with it before running it on a duty gun. Some folks adapt to it quicker than others. I put a Vortex dot on a Ruger .22 and played with it before running one on my duty rig, and -- at least in my case -- that was a good decision. It took a little while for my old eyes to get really comfortable with it (I'd already had to run fiber optic sights on my duty pistol). But once I got used to it I LOVE it. Faster first shot and much more precise fast shots. But rather than having one of my 1911s milled for a sight, I got a Staccato XC (optic ready) and put a Holosun 507 C on it; I wish I'd done that sooner! What a pleasure to shoot! I can do head shots on hogs at 50 yards with it; I haven't been able to do that with irons in a lot of years..........

Take it to Johnny Dury at Dury’s guns on 410 in San Antonio. Or to KDF precision on 46 in Seguin.
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.
