Went to the the mailbox yesterday and the only thing in there is a letter from the IRS. I couldn't even wait till I got to the house before I ripped it open. It said due to a recent audit they owed me $58 and a check should follow soon. What a relief.

That sure doesn't happen very often ( IRS sending you audit money). Did you ask about the interest?

I had a customer where they refunded him about 20K, said he didn't owe it. He called and said he did...they said no again. So, he puts the check in the safe deposit box. Four years later they said he owed 20K and about 30K in interest and penalties to boot. That's when he handed them the uncashed check. All interest and penalties went away.. Geeze.

I had one come to my business a while back. I hate seeing those things ,
turns out I had over paid on a form 941 by $9.45

they sent me a check the next week
