Small lake or backwater launch site

I’m looking for a good place to take my 13 yo son fishing. I’ve got a 14’ Jon boat with trolling motor & graph but the outboard isn’t working. I can launch it pretty much anywhere you can get the trailer in the water without getting stuck. Preferably something within 2 hours of Frisco. I don’t know if there are any small boat ramps on one of the big lakes (Ray Roberts?) where you don’t have to cross any big water? Or maybe a smaller lake? Or a pay to fish lake that’s not crazy $$?

l always fished the two mile bridge at Lake Tawakoni. There is a ramp on each side of the bridge and you will be in prime crappie waters 50 yards from the ramp.

crockett and coffee mill here in fannin county, crockett is a good one for small boats.

Easy, Buck Creek Boat Launch on Ray Roberts. This is where I would always launch my kayaks or 2 man bass boat. No wakes east of the railroad crossing and lots of fishing cover. This is normally where I take the kids.

This is true but if its blowing 10-15 at Tawok I would not do that. I've been in a 17 footer and it's a bitch on that bridge when it's rolling. Low winds no problem.
