I’m looking for a good place to take my 13 yo son fishing. I’ve got a 14’ Jon boat with trolling motor & graph but the outboard isn’t working. I can launch it pretty much anywhere you can get the trailer in the water without getting stuck. Preferably something within 2 hours of Frisco. I don’t know if there are any small boat ramps on one of the big lakes (Ray Roberts?) where you don’t have to cross any big water? Or maybe a smaller lake? Or a pay to fish lake that’s not crazy $$?

l always fished the two mile bridge at Lake Tawakoni. There is a ramp on each side of the bridge and you will be in prime crappie waters 50 yards from the ramp.

Easy, Buck Creek Boat Launch on Ray Roberts. This is where I would always launch my kayaks or 2 man bass boat. No wakes east of the railroad crossing and lots of fishing cover. This is normally where I take the kids.

This is true but if its blowing 10-15 at Tawok I would not do that. I've been in a 17 footer and it's a bitch on that bridge when it's rolling. Low winds no problem.
