My son and I had a good trip today on the Brazos River. We caught about 20-25 total, all white bass with the exception of one small largemouth bass. Water temp was 59-63 degrees, and the clarity was about 10-12". There were quite a few boats on the water today, saw several catching fish today. Most fish were smaller males between 8-11" but we did catch about 5 really nice sized keeper whites. Using 1/4 Oz. Rooster tails one all white the other all chartreuse, catch rate was fairly even between the colors. We did catch 2 of our larger fish on minnows (thanks Tackle Depot in Weatherford). The next 4-6 weeks should be pretty good fishing for the spawning whites.
