Back in 2015 I bought a 2500 HD 4wd GMC that was certified. It had 80,000 miles when I bought it. I drive the heck out of it and pull a boat on weekends and currently have 315,000 miles on it now and have had to replace the transmission at 180,000 miles and then again here at 315,000 miles. Because it was Certified they replaced the transmission both times for free. The certified program is the only way to go. You simply do all the maintenance per the Manufacture's recommendations, keep up with your receipts. You don't have to have it maintained at Moritz, just keep up with the paperwork and they warrant the Drive Train and Engine for the life of the vehicle.
