That is obviously a pet.

I saw something similar at a marina near the dam at Bull Shoals in the late 70's. They had crawfish in a cage in a boathouse. If you rattled the cage several large smallmouth would appear. The store worker said if you put your finger in the water next to the cage the fish would bloody it.
