I heard last night that the Mile long bridge on Hubbard Creek is closed for repairs. Can anyone confirm this or is it just a rumor? Thanks

Closed until July 2024. Some fisherman saw concrete falling from the bridge, took pics and sent to TxDot. Closed immediately. You cannot get from Albany to Breck without going through Woodson or down through Baird.

There is a faster way via 576 south of the lake.
Also they hope to have 1 lane open soon with the temporary repair. We will know next week.

Announced today that repairs were finished and would reopen on the 11th. They want to have at least 4 days to cure before reopening.

They opened the bridge back up at 4pm today. Cut my drive to work back to 8 min. rather than the 45 min. the detour took.

The funny part to me was how pissed off so many of the locals were on FB that they shut down the bridge.

I mean they would have preferred to drive across a damaged bridge than take a longer safe route.

Had they not closed the bridge and a horrible accident occurred these same people would have been complaining that someone didn't do their job.

Just proof that you will never satisfy everyone and its impossible to satisfy some.

I thought they reacted extremely quickly with the inspection and repairs. Quickest I've ever seen.
