Best To Use Braid or Fluorocarbon as Your Mainline!

For my mainline i use braid. You need a non-stretch-able line & fluorocarbon is expensive but is also recommended. You can use mono but you'll have to over-compensate your line retrieve to entice that bite. I tie the main-line to a barrel swivel & use either a 1/2 or 3/4 ounce lead egg as my weight.

For fresh water i use a 1pc 7'1" MH or a 7'6" M rod. Preferably C-class. Salt water i use a 2pc 9'6" or a 9'9" M spinning rod as i'll need distance. You can use any line for your leader. I prefer 20lb fluorocarbon. Depends on your targeted species.

The reason for this is to impart a certain reaction to the lure by combining rod length & line attributes working together.
