Technically 10 days still left in the year but lets see/hear your story of your biggest bass this year!

I was fishing Joe Pool in the trees across from the state park. Threw my ol' reliable, a 1/16th oz shakey head jig with a 6 inch trick worm into a few trees. I wasn't getting any bites all day. Ended up casting out and checking my phone. When I went to reel in some slack I felt resistance. Ended up catching my PB, right at 8lbs. Couldn't get good pics of it so I took some videos.

Was catching a ton of 2-4 lb fish in 3-4' of water on a local lake. Was using a Chatterbait and a Jig. Seemed like there was a fish in every bush, but couldn't find any big fish. So backed off in 8-10 ft of water and started flipping a jig. Almost every fish was buried in the trees. Everytime I set the hook the fish would be pinned in the trees and wouldn't budge. Caught a couple 4 lbers but still lots of small fish.

Then felt a light tap and the ever so slightest movement. Set the hook and the jig didn't budge. Thought I was snagged. Held the line tight and could feel movement. Eased off the tension a tad and suddently noticed my line moving. Thats when I realized it was a good fish and she was out of the tree. When she finally came to the surface I figured I needed the net, but had it buried and couldn't get it out so played her out and lipped her at the boat. Was my 2nd over 10 and a little bigger than my previous PB. She weighed 10.11 lbs, previous PB was 10.06. She was 24.5" long with a 21.5" girth.

Caught her on a 3/8 oz Watermelon Red Screwy Lewy lures jig.

Here's the best I could do to get a screenshot of the fish.

Sadly I have nothing to brag about this year. Worked too much and didn't fish nearly enough. Heck I dont think I busted 7#'s this year.

No crazy stories on the big fish but did manage 3 DD's. Two from very unexpected lakes.

Rough year fishing for me. Fished maybe 3 times since July. Biggest bass was 8 something caught while crappie fishing. I did have my best numbers day in early summer catching 120+ bass solo.

2023 was one of the worse years of fishing for me. Hopefully 2024 will be better.

It wasn’t a big fish year for me.. lots of 5 and 6 lb fish but never got the big bite. Now for days that I caught numbers.. it was a banner year! Several 50 plus fish days! A few days of more. 3 to 5 lb fish it was a super year. I only fished Rayburn all year. Just about every weekend I was on the water. Caught 17 this morning. Winter is my favorite time to fish so hopefully I will get a big one before the last day of the year.

Not any really big fish this year but I did have one memorable bass. Me and my partner fishing Bass Champs on Ray Roberts. We had two small fish first thing in the morning and then went about 6 or so hours without another bite. We finally threw up our hands and decided to just run to another part of the lake and put our heads down and fish. We got to an area and put the trolling motor down and said let's just see if we can get another fish or so. We only had about an hour to go and started just concentrating on catching a fish. All of a sudden my partner bows up and pulls in about a 6 1/2 lber. We felt like we had at least salvaged part of the day. Then a few minutes later he catches a 4lber. Now all of a sudden we are really feeling better and he says it would really be a great day if we could pull out one more fish to weigh in a limit. We had about 30 minutes to go. He has the trolling motor on high racing around a shallow little point and I look over and see a low down in about a foot of water. I just instinctively chunk over my Chatterbait not really thinking about a fish in water that I could see the bottom. Then as I pull the bait up to the log a fish comes out from behind it and crushes it. I start fighting the fish and my buddy starts turning the boat towards the fish and slows down to net my 4 1/2 lber. It all happened so quick and was so much chaos that when we get it in the boat we both are going crazy knowing now that we had a decent bag and had gone from next to nothing to having a fantastic day within just minutes at the end of the day. We just high fived and thought now we can just run out the rest of the day, about 15 or so minutes and go in but that fish was just my biggest catch of the year and was such an awesome memory. My partner went on to actually catch a couple more cull fish in the next 5 to 10 minutes to cull up to our 21 + lbs right before we headed in.
To go in and weigh in and end up in 2nd place was the most fun I had all year and was a great day to spend with my great friend Craig Dowis and my favorite fish catching memory of the year even if it wasn't a BIG fish.

Back issues kept me out of the boat most of the year. But surgery went well and I am just about ready to get back on the lake. Looking forward to 2024!

No really big fish. Maybe pushing 8lbs ir so. Weighed in a 6plus and a 7 plus in tournaments this year so that was fun. All in all it was a g9od year. We finished in the top 4 of about the tournaments we fished and al.ost got AOY but first tournament of the year hurt us too much. It was on new lakes for us and really not made for the way we lime to fish but it was a lot of fun.

We stumbled at the championship and had our shot as a Top 3 or a win but we lost way too many fish. We were happy to find the fish we needed in that million acres of water but we did not get them in the boat after they bit when it mattered. That kinda lit a fire to want the season to start ASAP.

Gonna try to make 2024 a great year in the boat.
