I don’t think it’s a bad look for the sport to have an outlet where things are limited, so that’s those who don’t want or can’t get FFS can still have an even playing field.

Earth shattering, young guys can’t afford the best equipment. That’s never happened before.

Don't even start trying to rationalize or find a way to make sense here...
"FFS is bad" - period - this is the mantra that they keep telling themselves - while they are sitting and eagerly anticipating the spawn so they can sight fish......

I can't really say I'm anti FFS because I own one.

It has absolutely helped me catch more fish.

I still wish it was never invented, although I don't necessarily want to see it banned either. Once you start down that path, where do you stop?

When it hurts more than it helps. When people stop buying it.
Just hope the catch and eat crowd does not start using it a lot.

Back when I started there was an incorrect assumption that was almost universally accepted.
We only fished for 5% of the bass in the lake. You could never hurt the fish populations.

With the numbers fishing then and technology available that was probably correct.

IMO technology is going to negatively affect catches or require a lot more money stocking fish to keep up with the amount of fish lost.

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

Where do you go to try one???... Is Bass Pro Shop lending a couple out for the day with a deposit???... Standing on the dock waiting for a guy to back down and asking if you can fish with him for the day sounds creepy to me... I've fished trails that banned jet outboards... Made a rule that all boats have a console... Be of a certain length... Banned fishing in creeks where a lot of tournaments go out of (retreads)... Made rules that prohibit fishing within 50 yards up and down stream of certain launch ramps (retreads)... Made other areas off limits because most fiberglass bass boat couldn't reach them... And all bass tournament ban live bait...

As I said earlier I have no plans to invest in it... I fish 5-6 days a week and just enjoy my time on the water... Fished today from 8a-4p caught 3 smallies, one was a keeper. Had a nice relaxing day watching the gulls chase bait, saw an eagle make a dive and miss and scared a pair of river otters that were sunning on a dock... Seems to me it's the FFS crowd that's got their undies in a wad... Dan

You gotta be the only boat on the water without it…just ask the next person you see to demo it to you.

It’s all about $.

BASS and other tours have regulated things that had far less of an impact than FFS.

Think Alabama Rig.

Before that a 8’ rod length limit. Think about that, they shortened up the rods because a few dudes were doing some progressive things at the time with a long rod.

I don’t think limiting sonar technology is too far outside the realm of what is possible.

So take it off your boat along with your spot lock trolling motor, your power poles and your graphs. Just use a flasher and fish.

I've gotta a Fortrex, no poles and I called Humminbird and asked them why they didn't put a flasher screen on their fish finders about 10 years ago... All a use my graphs for is depth and water temps so I'd be more than happy to go with a Super Sixty on the console and bow with a temp gauge... Dang, I coulda saved at least $1500 when I bought my boat... Dan
