I shared this on Facebook the past two years. This year I share it with you - all who read and post in the White Bass/Hybrid/Striper group:
My 2023 Christmas card to you
To my fellow believers and to those who have not yet believed, Christmas makes us take pause to consider why it is so celebrated. What was the significance of that first Christmas night? Predicted hundreds of years before in the Bible, this was the moment in time God chose to begin carrying out His plan to rescue, to save mankind from the punishment due us all for our many sins and failures. The rescue plan – God Himself would come to earth as a human being (yet still God) and take our punishment on Himself, which He did as Jesus Christ - suffering and dying in our place on that Roman cross over 2000 years ago.
Please consider, this was not some rescue effort God had to come up with after He saw how mankind behaved. In His foresight and wisdom, God knew before creating us that we would all become sinners. He knew it because of the way He made us – beings of free will with whom He wanted to have a meaningful relationship – something He couldn’t have with us if He forced His will on us. So, even before creating the world and us, He knew that, because of free will, we would at times do what we wanted rather than what we should. He knew He would have to rescue us because of His love for us and because His just nature required our sins to be punished.
So, that first Christmas night, God physically entered our world as baby Jesus. He entered our world with a mission – to grow up to become the man Jesus, the Messiah (God’s promised Savior), who would complete God’s plan to save us. How profound is that!!!
The Bible compares Jesus’ entering our world to light entering darkness. Before He died for us, rose from the grave, and ascended back to heaven, Jesus warned us that Satan is real. The Bible says that he blinds the eyes of the unbelieving “that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” But those of us who have already been rescued (believers), are ambassadors for Christ. Jesus now shines in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of Christ to the unbelieving world. That is, we know something that, if shared, will bring light to a fallen world – the gospel, God’s rescue plan for mankind. Thus, we are indebted to those who have not yet believed, to share this good news with you.
If you, my friends or family, are still unbelieving, I owe this treasure of good news to you. Please collect in any way you choose. If you are fearful of the change becoming a believer might bring to your life, don’t fear. Jesus said that He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly, something that, if you ask any believer, they will confirm.
Merry Christmas to all, Dennis Christian

Very well stated Sir. Amen. Side Note: On Christmas Day a Savior was born. His name is JESUS CHRIST! God's gift to all of us. Best thing I ever did in my life was to accept God's Gift, Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. The Sinners Prayer. "God I believe in Jesus Christ and I ask you to forgive me of all of my sins. I accept Jesus Christ has my Lord and Savior. Amen". That sinners prayer is all that you need to say to accept Jesus has your Lord and Savior. Jesus did all the rest. Eternal Life awaits all who call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
IGFA World Record Rio Grande Cichlid. Lake Dunlap. John 3:16 Sinner's Prayer. God forgive me a sinner. I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior !
