O.H. Ivie and Amistad are definitely 1 and 2. Amistad is always a fun trip even if the fishing is tough.

I've probably spent more time on Alan Henry in the last 9 years than all other lakes combined and it is absolutely my least favorite lake to fish.

Texas lakes that you've had the most memorable times on. Here's mine......

1) Falcon Lake - Started going in 2007 and the blast lasted up until 2013. Falcon was the most unbelievable fishery during that stretch. We had numerous days that our best 5 would eclipse 40lbs. I started going with my father and when he got too old to make the long trip, my buddy tejasbasshunter and I spent every chance we got down there. The only double digits that I've ever caught was from Falcon. I've had three and biggest weighed 11.81. Some memories that I'll cherish for the rest of my life.

2) Lake Fork - I can reminisce about this lake for a long time. Not since 1995 and living in Texas, though. The heydays for me was 1987 up until 1995...the dreaded LMBV. We would load up and head down from Tulsa with three or four boats each time and stay a week every year during spawn. These were the days that you literally had to say "pardon me...but can I cast over there where you're throwing?" The lake was that busy. Four to six pounders all day, every day. At least one or two guys on the trip would have a giant. I never boated a fish bigger than 8lbs15oz on the lake but had numerous 7 and 8lbers over the course of an 8 year stretch.

3) Lake Alan Henry - We hit this lake in it's prime but don't remember exactly the time frame. I believe it was 2005-2008 or so. Some of the clearest water you've ever seen in a lake. I remember bed fishing in 8-10ft of water for some giants. I never boated anything over 7 pounds, but my good buddy from Tulsa caught his only double digit that he's ever had. She weighed 10.02lbs. We talk about those trips frequently. I can remember fishing for share-a-lunkers that would suspend in the deep trees 10-15ft down, but never got the right angle to hook one and pull her out. That lake had SAL's showing up on a regular basis back then. Quite the fun experience we had!

4) Monticello - Wow what a great fishery we had for a long time! It's sad knowing there's no mas. Frog fishing and gold spinnerbaits in the pads was our most fun way back up in Blundell and under the bridge next to Blundell. Those fish hit so hard they would literally knock the rod out of your hands. We did this every winter for many a year.

So that's my most fun and most memorable Texas lakes that I've experienced. Since I'm now not fishing as much as I used to, it's good for me to reminisce about the old times in Texas. Let's hear some of your stories. Thank you for reading and I hope y'all have a blessed holiday season.

cheers Okie cheers

Monticello, damn I thought my black and gold spinnerbait was a secret. Sure miss it, mainly since I drive across the bridge almost daily. If I was 20 years younger I would have a kayak.

Possum Kingdom- We have a house there and have caught several big girls out of her.
Fork- I haven't been as successful as many on here but she's still been good to me none the less.
O.H. Ivie- been going there on and off until the internet ruined it for me
Bridgeport- I've been lucky out there more times than one man should.

Sam Rayburn! 20 years ago when fisherman still has morals and gave courtesy to there fellow man. There are still a few I bump into from time to time but it’s getting worse all the time.
I guess I retired and moved to Rayburn because of all the great memories from the past. Fishing is still great but it’s not the same lake.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Sam Rayburn. Been fishing it since there were still leaves on the trees in the Black Forest.
Choke Canyon. Probably my favorite Texas lake to fish when it's got water.
Falcon. Most 8-9 pound fish of any lake I've fished, other than Mexico.
Guerrero. Great numbers and lots of double digit fish. Drug my boat down there for 20 years until the cartels ruined everything.
El Salto. Simply amazing lake, caught my PB there. Got stories to tell about night fishing there that no one would believe.
