I'm sure everyone has done it but I got a couple of nets with holes in them. They are both quality Betts nets, one got a hole in it this morning from a carp getting hung up in it and another one got caught on a rock. My question is have y'all every had any luck sending them back or do y'all know someone that can fix them? I've patched one a few times, it was my first quality net I bought, so not looking todo a whole lot with it.

If the drawstrings aren’t broken and twisted up, you can patch with some mono line.

I use 100 mono leader line for when I break braille lines and 20 lb mono to stitch up ripped webbing. No real method to doing it. Just patch it back together like Frankenstein and keep on trucking.

I've patched a couple, with mono, but have gotten to the point I just buy cheap ones for shallow water. I was able to pick up three 6 footers at Cabelas a couple years ago for 19.99 each, they were half price. Wish I would have bought a couple more. Haven't seen them back at that price. I'm just extremely careful with my taped deep water net. two years now and not one snag. Those 150 dollar nets are too expensive to snag.

I totally agree with you on the cheap net vs the expensive one. I decided this year to NOT lose another taped net and so, if I decide to throw it in a spot that I've never thrown it, I'll motor through the area first with my sidescan to see if there's any logs, brush or rocks there. I'm not worried about spooking the shad because most of the time, if I'm using my taped net, I'm in deep enough water that they won't usually spook. If you spook shad in shallow water, just wait about 5 minutes and they'll come right back or they'll just move a short distance away.
