I’ve ran em in the past, always a great boat. I don’t see many guys or pros fishing Skeeter these days. Tell me why.

when was the last time you saw a major tournament winner say he couldnt have done it without xyz boat company they are paid by their sponsors to say whoever is giving them the best discount on the boat they are running it is the greatest. some boat companies have pulled back on so many sponsorships because with the invent of the net every boat is the greatest one to the current owner. covid had a lot to do with it too bass boat sales went thru the roof it has come back to reality look at all the 23 model boats sitting on dealers showrooms.

Does that mean Skeeter is not quite as liberal with sponsorships these days?

Lot of Skeeters on Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend, but like said, maybe less being sponsored these days.....

There’s a lot of choices. You need to think about what you want your sled to be best at, nothing ever does everything best.

I counted 14 Skeeters in the Bassmaster Elite Series.

Folks,
Skeeter has led Texas bass boat sales for decades and they should continue to. It is the only state they lead in registrations. It’s home and they have focused on that market for the life of bass boats as we know them, before the existing ownership or management.
It’s just as we are strong at home in Arkansas and have been for decades. The volume is even more so in the northern and northwestern portion of the state. Since BPS is located in Springfield they (Nitro) are strong there.
In other states, Nitro often tends to have the most sales and they lead overall US bass boat sales, when Ranger once did. There is a definite shift in volumes among brands and that trend is consistent over the last 40 years, as newer brands come in based on priced or various market drivers.

Ongoing history of leaking decks/lockers and suspect QC all all reasons imo Skeeter is not that popular outside of TX. Just IMO of course, but it's hard to find a Skeeter thread that doesn't wind up being about leaking decks due to the aluminum deck/screw construction. Also seems to be lots of comments and some vids about lack of QC, ie missing/loosing screws, bad wiring, etc.
Caveat - I own one, am generally happy with it (other than the leaks into lockers as mentioned) but doubt I would buy another one. Things I don't care for are the rear bilge access (improved in the FXR series) and lack of underseat storage, lack of non cooler center console storage. And that it's not a foot longer lol...

Tons of Skeeters in Texas. See a bunch at every tournament. I think the skeeters owner tournament is one of the largest owner tournaments.
