For those who use a plastic bait with a beaver tail , Do you rig the flat side of the tail like a beaver or the other way . In other words
do you want the profile to be bigger from the side or from the bottom ?

Or does it matter at all?

good luck

Mo

And a report, Saturday fished 10 am to 3:30 , 3 hybrid , 2 catfish , 25 keepers , one throwback. Brush piles 10-20 ft were best , most fish holding
near bottom , only caught few in the brush tops. Overcast , light breeze , Had the whole south end of Palestine to my self.

I was fishing the tail vertical , not flat. most fish on the pitch. I asked this question on another forum, most anglers there preferred rigging the
bait flat. I ordered some more of these from Bonehead yesterday, they have them in all my favorite colors. Next time out , I will have them
rigged both ways and let the fish decide. smile

good luck

MO

are these the brush gliders?
not sure what color you use but the purple shad is awesome for me in late fall/winter.. I use the 2 3/8 slim sticks. they are kind of pudgy in the center, perfect length.. on the yum beavertails there was a perforation down the middle of the tail and I would split the tail for more action,.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Yes, brush gliders , the pic on their website shows them with the tail flat, can't get the full visual from that pic. I fished Friday and Saturday.
I did well , fishing them with the tail vertical, Black and chartreuse and the Lake Palestine special were good.

The guy at Bonehead said some folks split the tail on the brush gliders, I have not tried that yet.
I have not fished the slim sticks yet , but have done well on the stump bugs.
Crazy angler slab bandits and the Bonehead are about all I fish,

good luck everybody

Split the tail down the middle and one can use scissors to add cple more , makes a good skirt.

They work great for deadsticking white bass too.
