Hypothesis: A $20 prime ribeye will taste better than $5 (on sale,) NY strip.

Experiment: Grilled both steaks simultaneously over charcoal and oak wood chips to medium-rare perfection.

Conclusion: Ribeye was superior, better flavor and more tender. "Buttery" sums it up. Was it 4x better to justify higher cost? Yes, yes it was.

I do like a NY strip but it has to be prime for me to buy it, you can get away with choice on a ribeye and it still be pretty good.

I buy prime NY strips a lot lately. But I look at them good before picking a pack. I'm convinced the world of prime has got a little shady.

Well of course prime is going to be better. In order for it to be a fair test both need to be prime. That’s like comparing Bob’s Steak and Chophouse to Texas Road House.

If I have a choice, prefer a prime or waygu NY strip over a prime or waygu ribeye.

Also, I’ve never had a bad meal at Texas Roadhouse and enjoy going there often.

Need to add a tone or porterhouse to the experience. Maybe also include a skirt or hanger steak.

For me, a ribeye always trumps a strip steak and I do love a nice porterhouse.

Ribeye is the king of steaks to me, yeah I'll get blasted for saying, but it's what I prefer. You can keep your porterhouse, filets, etc. Give me a good old ribeye and I'm happy!
