I took friend Paul and neighbor Brent to Tawakoni yesterday and, though fish were finnicky, we managed to catch 164: 153 white bass, 5 short hybrids, 3 cats, and 3 yellow bass. We left at 6:15 PM still catching one on every cast. Our buddies SeaPro Todd, Cliffshot, and Graham were also there in Todd's boat and also reported catching 164 fish. The fish were finnicky in most places, but they bit well at Finger and GPS. Our boat did best using the smallest yellow BoBlade with silver spinner and a #2 Mepps spinner. The way you worked the BoBlade mattered. Same places they wanted it reeled fast, but most places they wanted it slightly lifted off the bottom with the rod and then reel a few turns slowly. I also had to work the Mepps 2 differently than normal. I did best making long casts, holding the rod down, and making long medium fast drags. That worked better than holding the rod to the side, jerk starting it, and reeling slowly.

Thanks for the write up, DC, good tips on working the lures and good seeing ya out there. Weather was finally wonferful and the catching gotten better than my previous 3 trips. Marked good fish at most spots but the first half of the day, catching 1 or 2 and fish constantly moved. The second half in the afternoon the fish moved less and our counts went up faster.

Had no clue that yall caught 164 also? I over heard yall left at 153 count. The fact both boats caught the came count and we fish mostly at diff spots. Wow. We did best at Holiday hump, anchor and cloud. On my boat the smallest boblades did well in the south, Graham and I did great throwing them. At the north (finger, anchor, cloud) the fish bit the little George knockoff i got on Amazon with a tiny blade and a dot6 oz body, with higher frequent. I will mention this to Bovee to swap out to smaller blade as an option when fish get really finicky.

I fished Sunday from noon till 6:15 pm, this was my first time on tawakoni in my own boat.
Started at the hump down by the dam using live bait, had numerous takes downs, they all came up with whiskers(blue cats), I let the first batch go then decided to not go home empty handed.
Afterwards Tried trolling, no fish, moved north of the bridge on continued trolling without even a good driveby.
Around 4:30-5:00 pm, saw a guy reeling them in north of the Two Mile bridge, not too proud to inquire about what is working, he told me a Bo-Blade was the ticket and offer me one.
I initially held off his offer, till I got the technique/process correct using a tail spinner and also started to catch fish, and fish.
I left with 18 whitebass, and 3 blue cats.

Sirdukeoflor, I went out yesterday with my Dad. Did almost exactly what you did. I too ran into a couple guys N as well in fish. John and Randy did exactly same. Gave me a couple Bo Blades and man we started catching quickly!!

Thanks to a couple retired firefighters we were on fish. Thanks again guys.

I have a order of them coming!!

Funny how simple the design is. It's the quality that counts!

I fished a couple of hours on CC today and caught 37. The fish loved the smallest yellow BoBlade.
