Unfortunately. Looks as if a bass boat hit the 155 bridge pylon. God help those left behind.

According to what I read he ran into one of the pillars at the Highway 155 bridge and was ejected from the boat.

I got that much. I was wondering if mechanical failure or abnormal conditions (big wake) may have contributed. Excess speed? …..that’s what I was getting at. I know not all bridges are no wake zones….I know if I idled into a bridge, I’d probably not get ejected from my boat. Sounds very preventable.

I feel sorry for the person and their family. I idle under all bridges as I'm too paranoid of something like this happening to me.

Sad deal at Palestine. Pray for the families. I don't necessarily idle under bridges, but I always trim down and let up a bunch going under them. Like said above things could get real bad hitting a wake wrong, or mechanical issues at the wrong time. I always worried about the 190 bridge at Livingston. Anybody coming from that marina on the east end on the north side of the bridge tended to go through the first opening going south. And boats going north from the south used the same opening. Always though tournament directors should warn in the morning.
