Going the weekend of August 4th, and have never been to the lake. Going to drag the boat with me, any tips/suggestions? We are staying on the LA side up in Turner creek

I’ve heard fillet knives are a pre requisite on the Louisiana side of TB.

Stay in the boat lanes if you want to make it back in one piece

Ok, so in Negreet, mid lake area. Those flats as you enter the main lake towards cypress bend can be good. I hear there is some deep grass starting to get good down towards Housen and Sixmile.

I have only made one trip to Toledo for the Brandon Belt earlier this month. Spent 5 days on the lake a caught a lot of fish just didn’t pan out great in the tournament as we finished in 30th out of 90 or so teams. Most of the fish I caught in practice and the tournament were in the Housen/ Sixmile area of the lake. Had to spend a lot of time idling to find them but when I did it paid off. Also definitely stay close to the boat lanes. Lots of timber everywhere.

Thanks Pake. I planned on downloading Vick’s guide lane chip before I go as well.
