What they don't understand is that TP&W don't have near the restocking capabilities seen in WI or MN. Bass are not an unlimited resource in TX like Walleye in the north. It is expected to eat what you catch up north but the restocking is much more abundant.

Good luck doing that at Ivie. It's not a falcon or amistad where every bush or point has limits of 8lbers on it and any retard with a crankbait could fill their cooler.

In peak of spawn this year, maybe 5 percent of the lake was even worth looking in. And the areas that were clear enough to see, the avg fish I saw was 10". A 12" bass on Ivie is a big male. Never saw a 10lb+ fish with a male over 14". It's a crazy place to witness....

This fish had an 8" male with her. [Linked Image]

Isn’t there some kind of slot at Ivie, unlike: Amistad, Falcon & Choke, where guys take multiple limits every day?

You can only keep 2 fish under 18" on Ivie. No minimum for largemouth(smallmouth must be 14"). To keep 5, 3 of them have to be over 18.

I’ve never been but those Northern fisheries pumping out (50) 20+ lb bags a day are where I want to fish. The St Lawrence river, St. Clair, Great Lakes, and even that latest Cayuga event, always produce more 20+ bags then the Texas lakes.

Forward facing and knowing how to use it is what made Ivy great ! Catching fish on 50 ft drop off didn't hurt either

I caught more quality fish on Ivie before she filled up. She kicks my butt almost every trip now.
